Update from the IGCA Office
By Julia Ricottone
It has been one month since we saw each other in Denmark, and we hope you enjoyed your time there as much as we did. Perhaps you brought back some new ideas to use at your garden centre – maybe you decided to hold a customer appreciation day and give away a rose to generate some buzz like we saw at GardenShop Høsterkøb. Has anyone finally learned how to make that beautiful sound with a leaf? IGCA would like to thank Danske Havecentre, and all of the hosts of the tour for their hospitality during the 2015 IGCA Congress.
If you attended the IGCA Congress in Denmark, please let us know what you thought of it by filling out this short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RNVZT3V Your responses will help us continuously improve the Congress experience for all delegates in the future.
During the congress, we surpassed 1000 likes on Facebook, and we are nearly at 300 followers on Twitter. Social media is proving to be an important method of communication for the association, as we are sure it is for your business. We are excited to see our following continue to grow.
Speaking of growth, IGCA is pleased to welcome two new members: The China Horticulture Society Company Limited, and AmericanHort from the USA. We look forward to working closely with both associations going forward. There is lots to learn from all of our member countries and we hope to see all of the country administrators at our upcoming Administrator’s meeting this December in Niagara Falls, Canada. These meetings are the perfect opportunity to share ideas and learn about new programs and services that can be offered to members around the world.
