September 2015: Update from Germany

Vol. 7, Issue 3  |  September 2015

News from Germany

This year the sales in the garden centres are compared to the bad last year only by 1% plus.

Fruit and vegetable garden is doing well but nursery garden is very difficult this year – only fruit trees are running good.

The buying resistance of the customer is responsible for this. Therefore the subject of our winter Conference on 18th January 2016 in Aachen will be called “Customer Loyalty and customer frequency”.

This year the exhibition Gafa in cologne was also open to the end consumer from 29th August – 30th August to “the Day of the Garden.” We had also a booth there – an 80 m² garden area with birds-, butterflies and bee plants. It was very well attended.

This year we are offering our members a 4 day-trip to see garden centres in the area of Manchester. We will alsovisit the Christmas markets. The english garden centres are always interesting to see.
