September 2015: Update from Canada

Vol. 7, Issue 3  |  September 2015

Administrator’s will Visit Niagara Falls in December!

By Julia Ricottone

We are excited to have the IGCA Board and Country Administrators to Niagara Falls this December 6-9, 2015 for the IGCA Administrator’s Meeting.  At this meeting, we will share information about programs and services between fellow administrators, and the IGCA Board will tackle its strategic initiatives to move things forward for 2016.  We will have a chance to tour some garden centres in Niagara Falls and Toronto, and give the administrators a sample of what we have to offer all delegates when they come to Canada in September 2017.

Western Canada spent a number of weeks battling forest fires, and experiencing water bans on lawns and gardens.  It slowed sales in our garden centres, and some growers were left with extra inventory.  Central Canada experienced high heat and humidity right into September, with very little rain.

All of the Canadians who attended the IGCA Congress in Denmark had a great time and we hope that we can live up to the standards that have been set when we host everyone in 2017!
