Message From Your President

Rachel Doyle

Our congress in Denmark is fast approaching. We know that Steen, Per and their team are working hard at putting the final touches to a very exciting itinerary. We are all looking forward to meeting with you for a week of learning, networking, fun and seeing the best of Danish hospitality and culture.

In Ireland we’ve had very mixed weather, which is what we regard as the most influential factor for our industry. Q1 was a great start, however we have experienced all four seasons in one day for the later part of April and all of May! Last year we had a magical spring and summer, this year temperatures for May are down some days by 5 degrees below average. Despite a colder May the mood seems to be positive and the economy is in growth mode.  Fergal will report more on some statistics in our industry.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Rachel Doyle
President IGCA, Arboretum Garden Centre, Ireland
