Greetings from IGCA President Nick Stodel
The last 6 months had seen a period of intense activity for the IGCA board following the strategic meeting that was held in Australia in February this year. The strategy that was put together has allowed the IGCA board to remain focused and to make sure that changes are made to the way in which the IGCA works to the benefit of our members.
It is exciting that the IGCA has been able to attract close to 400 Facebook ‘fans’, which has allowed us to create a platform for like-minded garden centre people to communicate and share information. I believe that there is potential to make more use of this medium of communication. I encourage you to visit it at www.facebook.com/IGCAssociation.
The annual congress this year was held in Germany, which was a phenomenal experience. Delegates were able to tour garden centres with some of the best ideas in garden centre retailing in the world. A very big thank you to the German GCA for hosting us this year. Be sure to visit our Facebook site for pictures.
The study tour appears to be gaining momentum with 33 delegates on the tour this year in Germany. Thank you to Germany for supporting it, and thank you to Tammy, Sue and Karen for their enthusiasm in getting this off the ground.
Finally, thank you to the IGCA office and in particular Victor and Rebecca for their support. You guys have gone above the call of duty to get the job done. Thank you.
